Meet the student team

The student team is here to help you in whatever way we can. If you’d like someone to talk to or pray with we’re very happy to be booked up – just grab one of us or send us an email.

Here’s who we are:

Dave Reid

Dave heads up the student team along with Esther. He is a keen sailor and although he loves Oxford, wishes it was just a little closer to the sea!  He became a Christian while a student and has been involved in student ministry ever since. He's married to Helen and they have two small children (Timothy and Rachel) who love being babysat by students!

Esther Cockram

Esther was born and raised in the (“northern”!) city of Derby and started following Jesus from a young age. She discovered what it truly meant to live for Him during her late-teens and her years at Oxford Brookes University and has since been on adventures to Bedford and Paris, encouraging students to live for Him too. She's married to Pete who serves Jesus as a Graphic designer in Oxford and plays any instrument he can get his hands on. They have a penchant for camembert cheese and red wine!

The Apprentices:

Hannah Craig

Hannah was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and she lived there until she moved to Oxford to study Geography and Anthropology. She's a huge fan of Disney and an avid instragrammer. She came to know Jesus when she was 12 at a Scripture Union camp. But since coming to Oxford she's really seen for herself God's faithfulness to His promises. The majority of her time will be spent serving the families at St Ebbe's as our children's apprentice.

Tom Green

Tom was raised in Eastbourne in a God loving family with 3 older brothers. He came to Oxford in September 2014 to study Sports and Exercise Science at Oxford Brookes University and has been part of St Ebbe's Headington for the past 3 years. He's a keen sportsmen, when fit, and enjoys football (a keen supporter of Tottenham Hotspur FC), squash, hockey and cricket. He grew up in a Christian home yet struggled to find satisfaction in Christ Jesus until, around year 12 (lower sixth), when he cemented his faith and was hugely helped by meeting Christians his own age at University. He's looking forward to serving students in lots of ways; not least through his culinary skills at Focus!

Eleanor Cornes

Eleanor grew up in East Sussex and has just moved to Oxford after studying History at Cambridge. She grew up in a Christian home, but started to understand that the gospel was relevant to her own life when she was a teenager. She's a big fan of charity shops and crosswords, and a medium fan of Liverpool FC. She's keen to start working with students (mostly in coffee shops).

Joe Dennis

Joe grew up in Cambridge before moving to Oxford to study anthropology at Oxford Brookes. He loves to travel and explore new places. In his free time you can often find him running or cycling, or swimming in the sea off the Isle of Wight where his parents now live (whatever the weather!). Joe was lucky enough to grow up in a Christian home but didn’t get stuck into St Ebbe’s until half way through his first semester as a fresher and hasn’t looked back since. He is part of the student team at St Ebbe’s with a particular focus on international students and Explore.
